Bassam Masri, Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics receives the 2016 Pier Giorgio Marchetti award.
This award was established in 2010 and is given to recognize outstanding lifetime achievement in orthopaedic surgery by an international fellow who trained at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS).
Dr. Masri has been involved with training 122 fellows, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows, in addition to training many more postgraduate residents. Dr. Masri has been involved in multiple research projects which have lead to 242 invited presentations, 224 scientific presentations, 164 peer-reviewed published articles and 46 book chapters.
